Tradition and passion seamlessly blend with modern farming methods at Daniele Gregoris, a third-generation family-owned winery with an innovative spirit.

MEET THE VINEYARD

For over a century, in the hills of the Alpone Valley, the family has been renowned for
its passionate and meticulous dedication to creating the maximum expression of the vines
local to this region. Garganega and Durello
grapes, grown on the volcanic soils of Roncà and Monteforte d’Alpone, along with the grapes typical of the Valpolicella region, are interpreted with courage, elegance, aroma and character.

MEET THE WINEMAKER

Daniele Gregoris arrives from a long lineage of Veneto wine making and farming families. After concentrated enologic studies, he is fervent to create, to experiment and to blend modern scientific methods with the most authentic and original traditions. He has experimented with techniques and methods that allow his winery to eliminate the use of chemicals almost completely. In a world constantly changing, no amount of experience is ever enough. Eager to replicate the superior standards established by his family, he attempts with determination, humility and a lit bit of patience.

TERRITORY

The extreme eastern hillsides of the Valpolicella denomination, in the commune of Montecchia,
rich in sulphur and protected from elevation and constant ventilation, creates an optimal location
for Corvina grapes. These are cultivated biologically, and create the Amarone and Ripasso. The basalt slopes of the Alpone Valley hillsides are home to the region’s backbone, the Garganega grape, the Durello (a true indigenous grape) and Trebbiano di Soave.

WHY WE PICKED GREGORIS

Issimo met the Gregoris Family over 10 years ago, and in
fact it was their passion for art, history, culture
and, in particular, the land of Veneto, that led to Issimo’s creation. Through them we learned that a well-balanced approach is the key to hillside farming, and to coaxing from those hills some truly expressive wines.

MEET GREGORIS’
S ARTIST

Merijn Hos is an artist and illustrator based in Utrecht in the Netherlands. His focus on mood and atmosphere made Merijn the perfect choice to create the visuals for Issimo’s Daniele Gregoris wines. In his working methods, he complements Daniele’s approach to winemaking; combining traditional techniques with innovation and modern non-invasive farming methods.
