The Issimo Wedding Collection is designed to bring you sparkling wine perfectly suited to the celebration of a lifetime. This white sparkling wine comes from the Veneto region, which of course is home to Verona, setting of the world’s most famous love story, Romeo and Juliet. The wine is produced in the heart of the Prosecco-producing region in the town of Refrontolo, and is made from 100% Glera grapes that are fermented and then refermented to preserve their organoleptic quality. The second fermentation employs the “Martinotti” method, also known by the French name “Charmat”. This Prosecco Superiore will suit any style of wedding, and is ideal served as an aperitif and with appetisers of savoury pies and canapes, as well as being great to drink throughout the meal, particularly with first courses and fish dishes. Look out for the Italian tradition of cutting the groom’s tie into small pieces and selling them to the guests, or the more dramatic one where those just married smash a glass vase – the number of pieces are said to predict the length in years of the union, so the act is usually performed with vigour!
