The Issimo Wedding Collection is designed to bring you sparkling wine perfectly suited to the celebration of a lifetime. This sparkling rosé wine comes from the Veneto region, which of course is home to Verona, setting of the world’s most famous love story, Romeo and Juliet. Our Wedding Collection rosé is full of character, and is made in the heart of the Prosecco-producing region in the town of Refrontolo. Grown in soil rich in clay and sand, the white Glera and red Pinot Nero grapes, respectively 90% and 10% in proportion, undergo a double fermentation. This is completed using the Martinotti method, also known by the French name, “Charmat”,
in steel cylinders called autoclaves. It has a mandatory resting period of 60 days. It is perfectly suited to any style of wedding and is ideal served as an aperitif and with appetisers, first courses, fish and white meat. Look out for the Italian tradition of cutting the groom’s tie into small pieces and selling them to the guests, or the more dramatic one where those just married smash a glass vase – the number of pieces are said to predict the length in years of the union, so the act is usually performed with vigour!

What does “Millesimato” mean?

The word millesimato derives from the French “millésime”, meaning year of harvest. Technically, a vintage sparkling wine is a wine obtained from grapes of a single vintage (at least 85%), which must be indicated on the label.
